About JSIR

The Japanese Society of Interventional Radiology (JSIR) is a non-profit medical foundation aiming to improve science and technology in the field of interventional radiology, to support awareness of this treatment, and to serve patient care through education, science and research activities. JSIR also collaborates with national and international societies for better clinical practice.

Interventional Radiology (IR) is an innovative and minimally invasive treatment, which is delivered through blood vessels or a small incision in the skin for a targeted site under image guidance for a wide range of diseases. JSIR was founded in 1982 and works its educational and scientific activities through meetings, publication, and media in a variety of settings, representing over 3,000 full members, including nearly 1,300 JSIR accredited IR specialists who completed trainings at the JSIR certified institutes and the accreditation examination.
